From Wikipedia, Hamachi is a centrally-managed VPN system, consisting of the server cluster managed by the vendor of the system and the client software, which is installed on end-user computers.Virtual Private Network is a secured network which will create a secure tunnel for data transmission and ensure privacy. This type of network is commonly used in corporate environment to enable corporate user to login to their company VPN and use the resources as if they are in corporate LAN Environement.In short, VPN is designed to allow users to use LAN resources thru Internet. Users can do everything as if in LAN after the VPN connection is established thru Internet. After Hamachi release, it eases the configuration for VPN and allow home users to access their home PC or home LAN as if they are at their house pyhically. You will required to install Hamachi based on the following link.Download Hamachi here. You will required to install Hamachi in every pc on your Home LAN if you want to access all of them remotely. For examples, if you have two home pc and you hope to be able to access both home pc remotely, you need to install Hamachi on both home pc. After the installation, on the first home pc, you need to create a new network as per following diagram.
After you had completed the above instruction, you can remote control your home pc and browse your files in your home pc from any part of the world.If you have a notebook with you, you can install hamachi to gain access to the VPN. If you do not have it, you will need to use Logmein.com to access your home VPN network. |
